ECPAT-Cambodia
(End Child Prostitution, Abuses and Trafficking in Cambodia)
Background
ECPAT-Cambodia is an Independent network established in 1995. It is composed of 29 members from local, and an international NGOs and other relevant Institutions. It aims to prevent and end institution, abuse and sex trafficking of children in Cambodia.
ECPAT- Cambodia has been an affiliate Group of ECPAT International since the second ECPAT International assembly in Bangkok, Thailand in September 2002.
The assembly was attended by 215 people from over 60 countries worldwide. ECPAT-Cambodia has a vision to create a joint workforce of local, international organizations and relevant institutions for the abolition of trafficking and sexual exploitation of children.
ECPAT-Cambodia has 3 main objectives:
Work for a clear
understanding of prostitution issues, abuse, trafficking and advocacy to
support the eradication of trafficking and sexual exploitation of
children.
Coordinate the exchange of
information and experience with relevant organizations, institutions, networks.
Monitor the implementation of
the National Plan Against trafficking and sexual exploitation of children.
